Auction

Selling by auction is a certainly a very popular and commonly used method of sale in some of the southern markets such as Melbourne and Sydney and its been that way for many years. In more recent times more and more people are using the auction process to sell here in Darwin and buyers have now realised that they need to have their finance pre-arranged in the event that they need to be in a position to bid should they develop an interest in a property that is up for sale by auction.

Auction is a very simple and clean way to sell a property removing all the conditions (subject to building & pest or finance) from a standard contract, which then binds all parties to an unconditional agreement.

Selling by Auction

When selling a property it is important to consider the possibility of using the auction process as there are a number of significant benefits to the seller. For most people the word auction can be uncomfortable, however when you understand more about the process you will soon realise that it is a very effective way to sell a property.

3 Key Benefits

  1. The ability to sell the property for the best possible price especially if there is strong competitive bidding
  2. Once the contract is signed the sale is “unconditional” and is not subject to any conditions
  3. Generally most properties that sell using the auction process generally sell in a shorter time frame

Our Auctioneer – Karl Secondis

Karl is very well known within the Darwin community for being probably one of the most highly regarded auctioneers in the Northern Territory, and he has been auctioneering for most of his real estate career.

Over the years he has auctioned property in the Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales giving him a very sound understanding and knowledge of the auction process.

In some sales Karl has even been able to sell for as much as $100,000 over the reserve price and this would definitely not been possible if the property was sold by private treaty.

If you select to sell your property by auction, Karl will ensure that the very best result is achieved, and you will find his auction delivery to be highly professional and energetic.

Charity Auctions

Each year Karl gives his time to a number of local organisations and conducts charity auctions to raise much needed funds for the likes of Leukaemia Foundation, The Cancer Council, VINNIES and many others. During his career he has now raised in excess of $2 million dollars and continues to make time to support the Darwin community.

Auction Achievements

Karl generally competes each year and has competed at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships on more occasions than any other auctioneer in the Northern Territory, and was also the youngest person to be awarded the “REINT Auctioneer of the Year” in the Northern Territory back in 2002.

Karl competed again this year and was successful in being awarded the “REINT 2013 Auctioneer of the Year”, he will be heading to Perth to compete in the Australasian 2013 Auctioneering Championships September 24th & 25th.
